Husain Ali Youssef

Ali Youssef Hussain was born in 1938 in Kuwait. He entered the world of sport at a very young age, when he played football and athletics at school. He became a member of the Yarmouk Sports Club in 1965, where he worked for many years. He was a member of this clubs board of directors for 10 years; he was also in charge of the clubs football section for 10 years, and was Secretary-General for one year and President for one year.

At a national level, he has been a member of the Kuwait National Olympic Committees Board of Directors for 10 years, and was also the Treasurer for many years. He was elected as a member of the Kuwait Amateur Fencing Federation in 1977, for which he was President for eight years, member of the Board of Directors, and President of the Technical Commission.

Having studied sports management and sports science under the supervision of the Arab Sports Federation, in 1987 Ali Hussain pursued a brilliant career in sports administration. Within the International Fencing Federation, he was a member of the Propaganda Commission from 1985 to 2004; he has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2000 and a Member of Honour since 2008.
